Trip to Te Tuhi

NOLLYWOOD
Our trip to Te Tuhi was amazing, we went to there gallery to check out all there art work and master pieces at Te Tuhi. The most amazing art work i saw was this digital photo because in my head i had a feeling that these women's look like Charles Angel but the other version, unsexy, bigger guns, dirty clothes, no make-up...etc. This is what i see when i look at this picture.

"Nollywood is an exhibition of photographs by the internationally acclaimed photographer whose work reflects years of traveling through West Africa."

When i was walking through the gallery for the first time i thought it was about rituals, sacrifice and religious things and how they communicate with god but i was wrong because they all look scary to me but the man told us that what we were seeing, was character actors, but all in Nigeria's Nollywood a film industry.

hey makalio , i like the way you described these three females as thinking they were like ''charlie angels but the other version, unsexy, bigger guns, dirty clothes, no make-up'' . have you tried asking yourself more about why its girls holding these weapons not men ? or the kind of enviroment these females are in ? think about what makes this picture unique in a way or you can try figure out what this picture portrays ?? but this is a really good post . keep going . well done ..

Thanks Leo,

I like the way you contrast what you thought of at first, that the Nollywood show was about rituals and sacrifice, with what you found out later, that the photos were all about Nigeria's film industry. It's great to chart the way your thoughts change as you come to know more about what you're looking at. But in some ways, I think your first impression is still correct, because a lot of the films made in Nollywood are about ritual and sacrifice. So you're not wrong!

Melesaini,
it is good that you are asking questions, as this makes dialogue occur. However the task for this comment homework was that you either contextualize or decode meaning further on from the original post. Maybe if you posed the question to yourself and answered, then you would be locating meaning/context?
