in this image i immediately notice the colour pallet red ,black ,white representing in this case dominance and power with a feminist voice to it. i also notice the primary shape being a apex with the queens head at the top also influencing the dominance context and the image of the queen. this was done by banksy and is a image of queen victoria sitting on a females chest done on canvas. he uses a soled contrast black and white to create the image of the two female figures. the weight positioning of the image is slightly off center but frame wise is balanced. these are my p.o.v

I like the picture you piked, because i notice that it was Banksy art piece. Yes that is true that the red and black catches our eye and the white color dominated the red and black. But the color red also represents Courage and the color Black also represents NO Fear. So when you look at Banksy art work you can see and feel inside of you when you see the Queen's face and body emotion. And the point if view shows me that the Queen is 'DOMINATED'.

You have certainly picked up some of the terminology from Rebecca's class, and used a variety of terms to describe this image from a visual perspective. I am curious, though, what makes you think that this is a "feminist" voice? Simply because it portrays a woman in a position of dominance? Because it also portrays her sexually dominating another woman, which to me doesn't mean feminism, so much. Like the Banksy work of two cops kissing, I think it is more about reversing our expectations. He takes public figures, who are expected to be "upstanding citizens", and shows them in compromising sexual situations. It's funny but I'm not sure I would call it feminist. Maybe pro-lesbian, but I'm not even sure about that.

hmm ye that is a more accurate observation an way of decoding that piece. ye i just got the feeling of impowering for woman but now the after reading the way you see it it makes more cense! and its quite interesting how it feels like it has opened up another door or parthway for me to understand his work! nice! thank you tessa
